Can you do a layer that prevents patterns from a material from stretching? An article about the glitter done in Trolls 2 said the glitter shader can prevent stretching of glitter. What I had in mine was preventing stretching of scales like the ones in a youtube tutorial.

Can you procedurally produce tension maps in Substance Painter?

An article talks about the tech from Trolls 2. It mentions the glitter shader and it can prevent stretching of glitter on a character. Can I add a parameter where you can prevent stretching of glitter and different types of patterns?

Substance DesignerSubstance Designer - Feature Requests - Scale Patterns

I'd like different scale patterns as in scales on reptiles. Patterns with controls for cell size, cell density, color ramps with in each cell, and roundness. I'd like patterns similar to the textures in one photo and a photo of a chameleon's scales.

Lets say for example I want to add a scales material to a dinosaur and I want to have different flows in the scales as one of the images below show. How can I paint flows for the scales?

The first paper describes procedural mosaic tile geometry. The second describes procedural scale creation. The third describes image-based texture synthesis. All include control of flows, orientations, and boundaries. I'm wondering how can I paint controls for these in Painter?

Can texture synthesis be used for textures for materials created in Designer?

I'm learning about Substance Designer and I was wondering if I could export a material as a texture or pattern for Maya? I use a Maya/RenderMan Pipeline. Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Discussions - Creating scales in Painter

I'm new to Substance Painter and I want to create scales on dragons, dinosaurs, etc manually and procedurally. Could I create cells using a tile sampler to distribute random dots, then distance, and edge detection on a model in Painter or do I have to do create a skin surface in Designer?
