Can we still not just delete items from the shelf yet? What is the hold up with this?

Latest version incredibly unstable for me. First file, after days of work I go to finish and then now I get crashes when selecting any layer on one particular texture set. So I then set out to re-create that portion in a completely new file. Spent 18 or so hours on it. Now crashing with this file as well.

Need help please. Super unstable.
