Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Discussions - Substance Source Material
 on: February 07, 2019, 09:25:17 pm
Ok let's try this question:

On the 3D preview of Italian Fieldstone there is a button called Shuffle but when I load the material in SP there is no Colour Parameters so I have to ask why the Shuffle button?

1ST Q: What units does SP work in? I export from Daz Studio in CM, does it matter if I am not using SSS etc? But it would be nice to know for the future. :) Yes I have searched here and on Google for the answer. Asking on Forums is always my last resort.

2ND Q: For my first project I am using Woodcreek Mossy from Substance Source. I gather with it being procedural I don't have to worry about fidelity when scaling in any direction. I gather it is all about the final output size. Are my assumptions correct in this case.

SubstanceSubstance - Purchases & Licenses - New Subscription Q

This morning I just got an Indie License and in my Account it states my license ends 04/03/2019. Is this date for when I pay for another month?

Substance PainterSubstance Painter - Discussions - Gloss Weight maps
 on: January 23, 2019, 09:49:45 pm
As the title says can SP make them. I can't see any reference of them in the documentation (baking list). It is the way DAZ3D set up the Metal/Rough shader in Daz Studio with a Gloss Layer Weight node (0 Black, 1.00 white).

PS I may have found the answer. I think you may call them Glossiness maps

I have tried looking for this info and for some reason I just cannot find it.

What is the lowest version of Photoshop that the PSD Export will work with and will it work with the latest version of Photoshop Elements? I know most, if not all, professionals will have the latest version of PS but some if us self taught beginners can't stretch to that expense...yet.

SubstanceSubstance - Discussions - Not sure what I need
 on: December 03, 2015, 10:23:03 pm
Hi I have been rendering images for over 6 years now I am just about to embark on making products for the DAZ3D store and I am not sure which Substance software I need. It will be for image and animation rendering, not games. I will be doing most of my modelling in Blender and I thought SP would suit my workflow for making PBR and biased materials to suit Iray and 3Delight. I have watched all the YouTube vids your YouTube page and I am still unsure if I need Designer as SP & B2M seems to do all I want.

So my question is what would Designer do for me that I can't with SP and B2M apart from the obvious of making new materials from scratch.
