Hi

I am trying to figure out why my substance painter takes almost 2 mins to load when I am using a plugin (substance live link). Without the plugin its takes 15 seconds to load. I am using the same plugin on my laptop without issues, so I think there is something in my main pc thats causing the problem, I have gone through the list of conflicting software and tried all the suggestions there.  If anyone has Ideas how I can track this down that would be great. I have attached the log which I am hoping might shed some light. I have also tried reinstalling all my allegorithmic software.

Yeah thats what the redshift guys said as well. So basically the integration only works with Vray? You need to put a disclaimer about that, everytime theres a new version of the plugin I spend and at least a few hours running around trying to make it work.

Thanks, I found a post about changing the script so that it works with the new names in redshift. But then there is another issue once the material is created redshift says its unsupported. It dosent work in IPR mode but if you do a full render it works but with lots of warnings and errors.

Hi Guys

I am trying to create a Redshift Material in 3ds max 2019 using the latest integration plugin and I am getting this script error. I saw a post from a while back saying this would be fixed but still dosent seem to work.

Hi

I have been experimenting with this Matfx oil shader and  I seem to be getting different results with different output resolutions. I am using the input type diffuse rather than an image.

I had to uninstall the plugin as it made my 3ds max crash everytime I used redshift even though I wasnt using the substance map. Would be fine in IPR but when i went to do full renders ...straight crash to desktop.

I agree with  jellyjuice and others the substance integration support is terrible. I had totaly abandoned this workflow due to issues previously. I am trying it now again as I saw it featured in some allegorithmic/sidefx promotional videos. I am trying to use it in Houdini and Max with Redshift . And its disapointing to say the least.

I am also wondering about this. Information seems to be hard to find . I have seen it demoed for houdini 17.5 but nothing for 18.

seems to be a known issue  :o

From the driver notes
[Iray][OptiX]: Iray GPU acceleration crashes and falls back to CPU acceleration.

It seems there is something wrong with the new GPU drivers I was having another issue where it wouldnt render on the GPU. I rolled back the driver to a really old one and now I can paint on the 2 million poly one without issue it also fixed the issue with the GPU rendering.

I am not sure whats going on but its working for now.

its something to do with the nvidia drivers I reverted to version 391.35 and its working now

ok I have double checked the settings and made sure only one card is being used, and also have reinstalled the gpu drivers any other suggestions?

Hi
I have tried disabling one of them already. I created a profile in nvidia control panel whereby only one launches and also from within the program I tried setting it to one card. I can try it again.
