Author Topic: Substance Painter 2 crashing when locating license file  (Read 677 times)

I installed Substance Painter 2 on my Dell Inspiron 7000 Series laptop running Windows 10 x64.  I launched it for the first time, and the GUI displayed.  I was prompted to locate my license file, but as soon as it opened the file browser, the application crashed (before I could even navigate to my license file).  I've tried restarting several times, and this continues to happen.  I've confirmed that I have the latest Nvidia drivers installed.

Hey david_15,

Sounds like a bug related to this: https://forum.allegorithmic.com/index.php?topic=5320.0
Can you confirm that?

That fixed it.  Thank you!

Incidentally, the link in that other topic leads to a nonexistent page at download.cnet.com.  Here is the link to the actual developer of ShellExView:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

Both of these had to be disabled.  They are related to Dell Backup and Recovery:

DBROverlayIconBackuped.DBROverlayIconBackuped
DBROverlayIconNotBackuped.DBROverlayIconNotBackuped

Thanks again!
