Author Topic: OBJ the right export Format?  (Read 1931 times)

Hi there,

I´m using C4D as a modelling tool for game design and I´m trying to figure out the workflow between Substance an C4D.

One question: Is there a limitation in using .OBJ files for game assets (thinking of a workflow C4D-Painter/Designer-UE4)?

(I can triangulate the Polygons by hand in C4d before exporting, but there is no "smoothing group" option to export)

Another question which may be related to the upper one: How can I create a color ID Map in C4D to be able to use the powerfull Effect "add color selection" in Painter? I know it´s not exactly the right forum for that, but it would really help getting the right workflow to Painter!
