Author Topic: Can substance designer be used for high poly texturing?  (Read 3652 times)

I want to start compositing into film, and since my 3D models will be rendered instead of real time, I figure I can use high poly models.

But can high poly models be viewed while making textures in substance designer?

Below is not my image, but it's close to what I'm going for:

Yes it can do it but depending on your hardware you may experience a significant drop in performance. I have loaded a 5 million triangle mesh and it held up reasonably well. The biggest issue was that navigation in the 3D viewport was slow.

Thanks for the info!
