Seeking help making thin streaks, like string

I'm looking for suggestions on how to make a few, thin lines.

Imagine a few pieces of string lying on a floor.
Or a scratch on the side of a car.

Just a few of them.  Not straight lines.  Ranging from thin to very thin.

What kind of material you're aiming to?

Regarding the shape of the lines, you can use a tile generator to randomly place and rotate some lines then bend them using a dynamic warp filter.

I have two things in mind (currently).

1) Marker lines on a whiteboard.

Could be pencil lines on a sheet of paper.

I wanted some random lines that I planned to fade a probably blur a bit (maybe streak, too), so they looked like they'd most partially erased.

2) Thin blood vessels.

Ideally they would branch out and get thinner.  If I could figure that out, the same concept could make some really cool lightening bolts too.

I am able to make some fairly thin lines, but:
a) It's probably using some very inefficient methods
b) My method also tends to get "blobs" and "thicker areas" in addition to the lines.

In it, Wes goes over creating a scratches generator from scratch (hehe... Sorry) using the FX Map node. Seems to me like you could use this approach but changing the shape a bunch to get something more like what you need for your project

When it comes to Substance Designer, I've barely scratched the surface.
