Author Topic: Will Substance Painter (via Steam) work on Houdini Indie?  (Read 995 times)

When the Houdini support is released, will it support Houdini Indie? Also, will it work with the Steam version of Substance Painter? Do I need to have an Houdini engine subscription to get the Substance Painter and Houdini Indie to work together?

Hope the questions was clear.

Hey aasmund,

you are talking about Substance-Integration in Houdini, right?
The integrations as it is in Maya, 3Ds max and Toolbag 2, for instance, is independent from both Substance Designer and Painter. It doesn't matter which version of software you use.
So to answer you question: Yes, the Steam version of Substance Painter will be compatible.

If it is working with every Houdini version is something I don't know, unfortunately.

Substance-Integration, yes thats correct :) I dont see why it wouldnt as Houdini also got a Indie version of the Houdini engine, which is required to switch the content from Houdini between other programs. (That got abit messy)
