Author Topic: Painter wish list  (Read 2072 times)

Hello,

Instead of making a thread for each feature I'd make a post here each time I had something in mind.

1. Select multiple layers and merge them like in Photoshop.
2. Screenshot.
3. Displacement mapping.
4. Parallax Occlusion Mapping.
5. Export texture sets merged into one texture (per channel)
6. Hide parts of mesh where it is otherwise hard to see/paint.
7. Support for texture sizes bigger than 4096x4096. (Critical)
9. Export as 8Bit .PNG.

Thanks for the awesome product. :)

Ability to do one of two things:-
1. Export texture sets merged into one texture (per channel)
2. Hide parts of mesh where it is otherwise hard to see/paint.

Also, see my second post here:

Ability to paint a mask that directly links into a single parameter of a generator/FX layer. (But also allow multiple masks into multiple parameters)

OP updated. :)

9. Export as 8Bit .PNG.

Hey guys, don't hesitate to share your ideas on Uservoice ;-)

1. Select multiple layers and merge them like in Photoshop.
2. Screenshot.
5. Export texture sets merged into one texture (per channel)
6. Option to change the background color (not just black)

These are the few which i need right away, almost all of our clients demand a PSD file as a final texture submission and we are making PSDs manually after exporting so it would be better if we have some link between the two softwares, also we work on assets with one texture sheet but two meshes and after exporting textures from painter we still need to merge them into one sheet so it would be better to have the 5th feature.

Painter must have a screenshot feature, we work with clients who demand screenshots as part of submissions for a quick check and provide feedback, also give us an option to change the background color.

I wish the next version would have them, i am just loving this software  :) :)
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

A couple things:

1 UV sets
2 UDIM painting
3 Better brushes/clone etc

4 OpenSubdiv support - having to pre-subdivide meshes  can be a time consuming process.

* Ability to move/rotate the mesh
* Ability to import multiple meshes

* Disable/Enable MipMapping in the 3D view.
