Author Topic: Intersecting geometry ?  (Read 1594 times)

Loaded a mesh into SD and found this problem. (If u can't tell what it is, it's goggles on a helmet) As you can see the outer of the goggles is fine, but the visor is not. The middle polygons of the visor are showing but both sides are missing. The geometry is intersecting so I guess that's it, but is there any way to fix it ?

Hey espressocaffeine,

I am not sure how this issue is related to Substance Designer, it seems that your models normal are reversed, if I understood your problem properly.

Thanks, will check but the alignment should be fine.

It's also not showing in the svg of the uv.

I've checked all I can and can't find a problem.

Opened in SP and is all in check.

I've got it, they were quadrangles. Sorry for the bother.

Thanks again.

Hi,

It might be better to triangulate your mesh before export from your 3D program. Baking with a triangulated mesh is better so that the differences in how apps triangulate meshes won't cause an issue and it you won't run into display issues as well.
