Author Topic: Input 16bit on channel formats (RGB48/RGBA64)  (Read 1596 times)

Hello! I can not download to UE4 position map. The position map requires 16 bits per channel, and the available formats only TGA (max 8 bits per channel) and Jpeg (max 8 bits per channel).

Even if you could import a 16bit map into UE4, you will be limited by the Substance Engine. The UE4 integration use the CPU engine which is not able to read RGBA bitmap at 16bits. You can only read/use maps at 8bits maximum. You will have to split your position map in 3 separate grayscale textures in your case.
Don't forget your log file. It can be exported from the Help menu of the software.
