Author Topic: Ambient occlusion baking broken?  (Read 2359 times)


Today I noticed that whenever I try to bake an AO map from a high poly mesh, Substance Painter freezes. No matter the settings. It bakes other maps fine, but freezes with AO.

I tried it on older meshes too, where it used to work - and it froze with those too... Except with one, where the newly generated AO was completely black.

I have a GTX 970, but I haven't updated the drivers lately. I'm running windows 7.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

what version of Substance Painter are you using and which driver version have you installed?
Could you upload the log file, please? You can find it in Substance Painters main toolbar: Help -> Export Log file
