Yeah, they are different, so you don't get exactly the same results. You can get some filters from SP1 on substance Share, (just search for SP_1), I used these. get's you close.

When I open the project file, it looks like this. I can't figure out how to see the materials, and the camera seems to really distort the geometry. Any help appreciated!

make sure your system can run SP - check your specs - https://www.allegorithmic.com/products/tech-specs

Hi i had a question i have been following the lesson but for some reason, my dirt material doesn't show up in the mask, I tried checking the smart materials its still the same, i have attached an image of the problem bellow

Hi!

The download link isn't working, the download starts and then stops at 102 Mb. And also, the posts os the lamp tutorial are newer, from 2018, and this linked forum tells that another tutorial is the current one, but the videos were posted on 2015. So as I'm new on this I'd like to know wich one should I actually follow, the lamp or the crate/box?

I would really love to know how the model of the lantern was made. Was it made with CAD or Maya or both?

Hey guys - at 5:42 in the video here: https://youtu.be/QPg9BwcC8kQ?t=336 Wes changes his generator from Bi to TriPlanar with good results. When I try the same thing the generator effect vanishes, like it has gone, or had the scale increased to 1000% and smeared out. Is there a change in SP since the video that would account for this? Or have I missed something?

Having the same issue. Is Allegorithmic going to fix it? I tried to follow the other tutorial from 2015 but when I go to the playlist YouTube says it doesn't exist.

Edit: I was able to download the files for the lantern tutorial after insisting a bit. All working now

Hi, I'm trying this on 2019.2.1 and was going through lesson 03 and now the mask -> generator (dirt) workflow doesn't seem to have any effect on the roughness map. I only managed to get an effect when I created a generator that affected only the roughness of the base color layer.

Secondly, when triplanar is on, the entire map becomes a flat color. What gives?

having the same problem in 2019.3.1
no 'mg dirt' but have 'dirt'
nothing appears in roughness channel at all, but it shows something in mask channel. also getting entirely different results compared to the video.

the video does seem very good so far, just not getting the same output already

okay i am starting to see what is happening now.
once you go back to the fill layer and adjust the roughness slider the generator effect begins to appear.

the video shows the rust being very non-specular/glossy but mine turned out to be highly glossy. cannoty find where that was brought down?
