Author Topic: Irregular Polygons?  (Read 2266 times)

I'm looking for a way to make irregular polygons, specifically for a rectangular window with beveled corners.  I've attached screenshots of my results so far, using two Polygon 1 generators, a Blend node and a Gradient Map node (I'm trying to get the beveled look for the edge of the windows as well).  This isn't great, even if I could get it to look nice, because I'd only be able to make it look good for a single aperture.

I'd like to know if there's a better way to achieve this effect. I'm thinking maybe a greyscale map created in Photoshop or Illustrator that's then passed through a gradient map.

Alternatively, if there's a way to write your own generators, I'd like to see that as well.

like this?

Yes, exactly like that. I'm sure the node graph will be very informative when I'm not on my phone and can see the whole image. :P

I also hacked an SVG solution, I'll post it when I'm back at the computer. I'll probably use the node graph solution, though - I prefer something that gives more flexibility.
