How to move it?  :)

Hey tonytwaine,

you can't move a light, like it is the case in Substance Designer. You only can rotate the Environment around the Obejct with the shift key.
Pres. and Hold shift + Left Mouse Button and Pan around.

Thank you, Fabian :) your answers are always useful

Tried this and it's not working. Is there a new way?

Substance Painter --> CTLR + ALT + Right Mouse Button (I think there is no additional light to move, only the enviromental lights)

Substance Designer --> CRTL + SHIFT + Right Mouse Button (In Designer, you have a light that can be moved with SHIFT + Left Mouse button to rotate and SHIFT + Right Mouse Button to bring closer or move away the mesh)

Substance Painter --> CTLR + ALT + Right Mouse Button (I think there is no additional light to move, only the enviromental lights)

That keystroke combination (CTRL+ALT+RMB) is for selecting texture sets in the viewport. It DOES NOT rotate the environment by default - unless you have set it to do so in settings>Shortcuts.

Fabian is correct in that the default short cut is shift + RMB and pan L/R. OP check your settings>Shortcuts to see if maybe it got changed.

Daf

aaaah, maybe I changed the keys in the past, srry.

Shift+ RMB look like it don't work in the 5.6, till now the only way that i've find for move the light is with CTRL+SHIFT+RMB and pan L or R

And about the shortcut they don't look like to be available?!

Just to clear things up...

The OP posted in the Substance Painter forum so my answers have been for that application only. The default hotkeys for rotating the environment in each app are:

Substance Painter: Shift+RMB Pan L/R
Substance Designer: Ctrl+Shift+RMB Pan L/R

The default hotkeys for rotating the environment in each app are:

Substance Painter: Shift+RMB Pan L/R
Substance Designer: Ctrl+Shift+RMB Pan L/R

Why-oh-why are they different?

I get confused enough changing between applications from different companies.  It sure would be nice if "little things" like this were the same between Substance and Painter.

Because in SD you have environment rotation and light. In SP just environment rotation.

Oh.  Okay.
Thanks.
