Author Topic: Create an exposed parameter that controls multiple parameters simultaneously?  (Read 571 times)

Hi, I'm using the 'Make it Tile' node to tile each of my maps before they go to their outputs but have to use an individual node for each map. Each node has exactly the same values because I copy/pasted them so that all the maps line up.

Is there a way I can expose the Rotation Variation parameter of all tile nodes and then combine them into one slider that controls them simultaneously? Like a macro. This way, if I want to play with the tiling, I can rotate all the maps easily without having to go into every tiling node and change the values.

I've had a look at 'Smart Auto Tile' and that doesn't seem to do it for me. It doesn't control the tile variation like the 'Make it Tile' node.

I just started using Designer yesterday so forgive me if there's a stupid simple solution. Have a good day!

Yes, you can do this.
1. Make sure the parent graph has the parameter you want to share. To the right of the parameter you want to share is a dropdown list.  Pick "expose as new graph input". In your example, it looks like you might have already done this.

2.  For each additional node in your graph that you want to read the same rotation param, using the same param dropdown list (where you chose "expose as new graph input")  If you look further down, you should see the list of graph params that already exist.  Simply select the previously defined "rotation" param.
