Author Topic: Transfer painting to Identical mesh without texture sets.  (Read 767 times)

I painted a mesh with a lot of texture sets. Can I now transfer all this work to the exact same mesh with only one texture set? I tried replacing the mesh in the project configuration tab, but all the texture sets got grayed out, and none of the textures transferred when I did this. It seems like this should be possible, since the mesh is exactly the same, but I can't figure out how.

I actually have a video for this just not edited and uploaded yet, but you have a few options.

1. Use something like Photoshop to merge them
2. Bring everything back into Painter under a single MAT ID and use fill layers and masking as needed
3. Use Substance Designer
4. Use a 3rd Party tool like: Texture Set Combiner -
I teach people how to use Substance Painter. :)

Ahh, ok, so it will require merging the texture sets first. That's...a bummer for a whole host of reasons. Strange this functionality doesn't exist.
