Author Topic: consistency with floaters and continuous mesh in thickness maps?  (Read 769 times)

Hi there, im trying to bake thickness maps that are consistent between floating meshes (say bricks) and meshes that are extruded, but no luck. is there a way to get out of substance painter/designer something looking like SSS/ convex map that doesnt take into account the intersecting faces, but only looks at the whole mesh as if it was one piece?

I'm fine with baking the maps in other software, or somehow making the mesh one whole, if anyone has a way?

Sadly Zbrush's dynamesh isn't good with big objects like houses, consisting of planes and single sided surfaces, so that option is off the table.
