First post here.
I was wondering why is there no 3D mesh node, which can produce height alphas? I use the grabdoc function in Zbrush to import such alphas, but it's time consuming, and also doesn't have UVs. I'd like to load an imported mesh into a node, rotate it freely in it, then use the alpha for height and mask, and connect textures based on UVs for color.
I searched for some keywords, but didn't find any proper discussion about this... Anyone else out there, who would like to have such feature?
