Author Topic: Substance Painter freezing when using tools  (Read 653 times)

I know there are plenty of other variants of this issue, but I've gone through and fixed every issue that substance told me there was with my computer, from my Driver's Timeout setting in the registry, to my motherboard's BIOS update.

I'm running:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
16GB of DDR4 RAM
Asus Tuf Gaming x570 (wi-fi) motherboard w/ BIOS version: 3001

For some reason, after an update last year, substance has been the most unstable for me, locking up and needing to be re-opened after being force quit. I can't use the brush, nor the eraser properly (a.k.a click and drag) but instead have to tap left-click in order to get any progress made without Substance Painter locking up.

No crash report panel is presented when restarting either.
I just wanna know what happened to where Substance Painter can't handle doing what it's supposed to after some random update from the middle of 2020, and if there is a fix, or a way that I can roll-back my substance painter to a version that was released in mid-2020.
