The increased clock speeds from DDR3 to DDR4 will provide some benefit in the overall responsiveness of Substance Designer, but the issues linked to memory shortages will
persist as the actual available pool will likely not change much.
If the system runs out of memory and hits the pagefile, the usual recommendations still apply:
- Close any other memory intensive application
- Disable the Image cache for the graph – the option is available in the Graph toolbar
- Increase the Engine memory limit in the General section of the Preferences window
- Increase the system memory pool
