We don't have issues with TGA's with Alpha -- save as 32bit uncompressed, and everything works fine - substances use alpha channel correctly  (24bit is "8 bit per channel excluding alpha")

Nope, it's not working for me.

This is the result of a decal:

As you can see here it's a TGA without compression:

The white area is not supposed to show :(

If you posted up the png file and the exported tga, we could take a look at the output files. Thanks!

sorted out, in TGA the alpha is a mask, so I had to apply the masking basics to have it behave as expected. This should be highlighted in the doc ;)
