Author Topic: I can't bake accurately  (Read 943 times)

Baking at short distances is not accurate.

How can I succeed in a close bake?

This is when you would use a cage.

Thank you for your reply!

Is there a way for Substance Painter other than cages?

Or

Do I need to use other software?

Any reason you don't want to use a cage to bake this?

Isn't the cage this way?

I baked from high polygons to low polygons.

I thought I was using a cage.
Am I wrong?

I don't see a cage file in your screenshot... Painter bakes one of two ways, cageless by adjusting the frontal and rear ray distance, and by using a cage. You're not using a cage, and if you were there would be a file there and you could produce the actual mesh file that represents your cage.
