Author Topic: Cannot export to GLB, and no Preset for glTF PBR Metal Roughness  (Read 1362 times)

Hi everyone,

This is my first post to the forum. Glad to be here!

So, I tried to follow this guide export to GLB from Painter for Shopify:

https://help.shopify.com/en/partners/resources/creating-media/3d-models/creating-3d-models/maya#export-the-gltf-file-from-substance-painter

However, the glTF PBR Metal Roughness Preset doesn't even show under My Output Templates file! For that matter, I don't even have a "Config" tab as the instructions say.

How can I export to GLB with Painter?

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Thanks!

Are you using UDIMs at all?
I teach people how to use Substance Painter. :)

Honestly, I'm not 100% sure. I think so. Does that effect being able to export to GLB?

I'm sorry, I can definitively say no, I am only using one texture set, not UDIMS.

What version of Painter as you using?

If you're using a non UDIM project you should see it at the top of the list:

If you have UDIMs it will be there, but not selectable as UDIMs are not supported for it.

Yes, I figured it out :). I'm sorry, I'm a new SP user, so I wasn't aware that GLB / GLTF didn't support UDIMs at first.

Thanks for the info!

Now, I have a new issue.. whenver I export to GLB / GLTF, and try opening it Win10 standard 3D viewer, it looks all black. However, when using an online GLTF viewer, it looks fine.

Ideas?
