Author Topic: Material not receiving built static lighting [Self solved]  (Read 114 times)

I just wanted to share this if anyone else runs into it. Took me a while to debug.

Symptom: Build lighting in UE4 and the substance material in the scene does not receive lighting.

Reason: Missing ambient occlusion map output, this defaults to a black in the Substance base material, which eats up all light. So no light appears on material.

Fix: Export an AO map in your substance graph. Or disconnect the AO input texture node in the Substance base material in UE4.
