Substance Crash when trying to open a file

Hi everyone,

I just updated Substance Painter and now when I try to open a file it crashes without an error message. The problem is not coming from a file as Substance crashes when the Windows file explorer opens.

I tried to load an existing project, everything works fine as long as I don't try to open a file.

I found a crash dump file in AppData/Local/CrashDumps, and after analyzing it in WinDbg it looks like the crash comes from Qt5Core.dll. I tried reinstalling Painter but it's still crashing.

Any help?

Hi,

This might be related to a software conflict we are having with ChituBox.
There is now on option you can deactivate in Chitubox, that will fix the crash with Painter:

- In Chitubox, go in "Settings"
- Uncheck " Enable thumbnail preview of desktop model".
- Restart your computer

I am having the exact same problem. Checked the Chitubox issues and restarted but SP still won't let me pick a Mesh/File as it will constantly crash at that very part.

Can you confirm it crash when the Window explorer just open, before you are able to select a file? If yes, can you also confirm you do have those settings in Chitubox :
