Author Topic: Auto UV giving poor results on cube from 3ds max  (Read 765 times)

Im not sure if I am doing something wrong but I was trying to test it out with some basic meshes like a cub and a low poly warhammer and Im getting very poor results with a lot of stretching. Im exporting an FBX from 3ds max 2020 and I applied the clear UVW modifier to make sure there were no UVs. Am I missing something?

Auto-unwrap doesn't work well with very simple shapes like a cube, it wasn't designed for that.

Try to unwrap more complex (organic) shapes. Or, if you want good and optimized UVs for your model (you do), and seams in places where they actually make sense, stay away from automatic unwrapping altogether and do it manually.
