Author Topic: Substance Source Preview Render  (Read 914 times)

I was wondering what render engine are you guys at Substance using when rendering the actual high res preview of the shader cloth ball that shows in substance source? I only ask because when switching to the openGL 3d viewer there is a significant loss in quality and detail. Which i assume comes from the rendering and shader setup itself.

I've attached a screenshot to demonstrate the difference.

At the moment Arnold is used for the renders.
For the real time viewer it is not as precise in terms of tiling and displacement, the light is not the same and we had to make compromises to have a good performance when tweaking parameters so the quality is of course not as great.
But if you do ray tracing renders on your side you should be able to get the same level of quality as you see on the Source render!
