Author Topic: Is there any way to link files with relative path?  (Read 956 times)

As far as I know, Substance Designer does not support relative path right now.
If it does, I really want to know how to.

the relative path should be based on...
1. aliases
2. current .SBS file

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

Please see my reply in this thread regarding how paths for dependencies and export are currently managed in Substance Designer.

Feel free to reply in that thread so everyone involved can benefit from helpful information!

To describe more clearly, I attached screenshots.

In the thread that you give me, you tells about relative export path.
Just same as that one, plz allow users to use relative import path too.

Hello,

Thank you for providing these additional details.

The File Path field in the resource's Properties panel currently displays absolute paths without any aliases applied, for resources and packages in the Explorer panel. We will discuss your suggestion internally, thank you for the valuable feedback!

In the meantime, please note that the paths are correctly saved as relative, with aliases applied where applicable, in the SBS file – which follows the XML format and can be opened with any text editor.

Best regards,
Luca
