Where to start on this brick pattern

I would love someone to help me to create this kind of pattern mortar and texture of this brick, I've looked to plenty of tutorials so far and I'm pretty new at this software, the brick pattern I'm sending is just one of a thousand patterns that I need to work on. It is a challenging task but I'm confident that someone is going to point me in the right direction, I tried to create a texture in alchemist with a bitmap to material but the pattern looks very repetitive (not worthy of sharing).

Very easy with Alchemist.
I used a brick texture and added the sandy texture to the joints.
