Hello,

First sorry if I am asking my question in wrong place. This is first time I am posting here.

I am following a tutorial that using substance painter 1.5.7 to texture the asset. That tutorial used two maps from shelf\procedurals  named " wood fibers 1" and "wood fibers 2". I am using Substance painter 2017. Those maps are missing! I searched on google but can`t find those maps. Why those are missing in new versions and how can I find them.

I am appreciate for any help.
Thanks!

Is there a reason you're using an older version than 2018.2.3 ?
I teach people how to use Substance Painter. :)

I am really sorry, my bad, I am using 2018. I was sleepy when I wrote this. I can see some people asking where is x material, where is y material. Why it is like this? I am new user of substance. Still need to learn a lot of things. If each version missing something then what is the best version?

If you load up the program you'll be prompted with the latest update if you're using an older version, otherwise you can login to your account on: https://www.allegorithmic.com/user/ then licenses and download the latest version.

I checked both Substance Painter and Designer, there is no "Wood Fiber 1 & 2" but there is Fiber 1 & 2:

I am following Tim Bergholz AKM tutorial: https://gumroad.com/l/UltimateWeaponTutorial

However thanks for the checking those maps for me. If anyone has the same problem, I could generate the same map he used with this photoshop tutorial: (just don`t do the wood knot part)
https://photoshopcafe.com/tutorials/wood/wood.htm

Just use black and white instead the brown in that tutorial and it can work perfect in substance!

Doesn't he include those materials with the course...? I'm not willing to buy the tutorial to find out, but for all I know he created them from scratch. The tutorial says: Procedural wood substance for texturing is included.

Either way, he has a forum if you paid for the Tutorial just ask for help there: https://forum.chamferzone.com/

Best of luck!  :)

wood fibers 1 and 2 are legacy, they are included in SD but not visible in the shelf, only loading if a legacy node is required by older sbs files. The texture you tend to use instead is the directional noise 1 & 2, hope this helps.

Thank you, Colkaih! That was very helpful for me.
