Author Topic: 3D View appears very low res/pixelated since 2020.1 update  (Read 134 times)

Is there some new setting I'm missing? Antialiasing?
All nodes/maps are 2048, so it's not a low res texture issue.
This is in both Substances I've made in 2019 and in a brand new Substance.

Fixed(?) - so when I edit the camera and change Use Window Resolution to False, it clears it right up, as the resolution in there is set to 1920x1080. I've never messed with this setting before, so I'm not sure if the default changed in 2020 or what.

The low resolution of your 3D View might be caused by a new option we introduced in the 3D View tab of the Preferences window. This is mentioned in the release notes for version 10.1.0 (2020.1.0):

[3D View] Add an option to downscale viewport resolution when High DPI is enabled

It appears your system uses a 4k monitor with 200% scaling. This means High DPI mode will be used in Substance Designer to scale the user interface to match the scaling settings in Windows.
This new option lets you decide if this scaling should impact the resolution of the 3D View rendering.

Best regards.
