Author Topic: Issue with baking a simple Low / High  (Read 872 times)

Hey guys,

I bake often with substance Painter, but with really simple mesh, I've an issue... the bake is totally wrong...

the HP has nothing particular.....

Usually, this issue is the wrong Groupsmooth but here, 1 UVISLAND = 1 Groupsmooth
I tried with a unique groupsmooth, same result...

No overlapped uv, no invertex poly, all is reset X formed...

I'm out of idea.... and you ? :disappointed:

Thanks, and have a nice week

Your problem is because your low poly mesh has edges without proper support. You cannot expect a 90 degree edge to take on the shape of a beveled edge from the high poly for example. Add in edge support, then use smoothing groups.
I teach people how to use Substance Painter. :)

hum, can you draw on the screeen, where do you think the edge support is needed ?
