Author Topic: vector map or a rotation map from baked map  (Read 81 times)


Is it possible to generate a vector map or a rotation map to have a direction in the tile sampler from a world space normal or else ? I try to make a fur generator and I would like to have a flow more natural than the triplanar position.
For now, I tried to have a rotation map from the ambient occlusion to know where is the up and down.

You can use the "world direction map" baker and set the vector direction using the x, y, z values (a direction toward the ground should be 0, -1, 0.

But this will give you a uniform vector for the whole mesh. There is no automatic way to define a natural directory around the mesh features.
