Author Topic: Cells 2 looks strange at 4K , 4.5.2  (Read 2576 times)

Hello , I'm new to the software so maybe I'm doing something wrong .
Just downloaded 4.5.2 version.

whenever I put cells2 at more then 2k for outputs , it looks very strange.

Thanks.
Victor.

With "strange" do you mean the lines thickness?
I must say its something weird going on there, I get different results when changing the nodes resolution.
Also when I set it to absolute and crank it up to 4K; the output node gives 4k but the noise node keeps saying 2K.
Maybe there is a good reason for this (I'm a noob too)?

Can you share a comparison screenshot ?

By any change, are you running under the CPU engine (SSE2) ?
You can try to switch to the GPU engine (DirectX/OpenGl) via Tool > Switch Engine, it's the only one able to output 4K textures.
Don't forget your log file. It can be exported from the Help menu of the software.

That indeed did the trick, Thanks a lot!

Hello

I'm using directX.
on the left Cells2 at 2k , and on the right cells2 at 4K.

thanks.

Thank you, we are investigating the issue.
Meanwhile the only workaround will be to generate the noise at 2K and do an upscale.
