Author Topic: How do I get the Auto UV’s back into my modeling software?  (Read 1205 times)

Hey all,

Was curious if anyone knows how to work with this step of the process because I can’t seem to find it anywhere. I completed my project with the Auto UV feature. Being that I did that, my texture files don’t have UV coordinates back in my 3D modeling software (using blender for the record). How do I get those UV’s that we’re generated with Auto UV into my 3D software so that my substance texture files can be read correctly? I tried exporting obj... but it made everything one mesh. Anyone have an answer?


You can use File > Export Mesh to get the mesh with the new UVs. Then in your 3D application you likely have a tool to transfer the UVs back onto the original geometry.
Don't forget your log file. It can be exported from the Help menu of the software.
