Author Topic: removing unneeded textires  (Read 872 times)

this is something ive always toiled with, but is there a way to forcibly remove unneeded textures/normal maps etc.?  Ill often end up with loads of normal maps that i drag in to rebake world normals, and get confused as to which ones i need. Even the cleanup feature doesnt remove them :(   The fact the its so hard to see a large version of the maps doesnt help in the matter of identification :-/

thanks for any help on the matter

The Clean function from the main menu remove any unused resource inside your projects. These resources won't be removed by the Clean if :
- They are still used in the project somewhere (like in the Texture set settings or in a layer)
- The resource is not imported in the project, but in the Shelf or the Session instead.

If your ressources are in the Shelf, you can right-click and chose "explore" to find where it is on your disk and remove it. If you do that, you will have to restart Substance Painter as we don't support the removal of resources while the application is running.
Don't forget your log file. It can be exported from the Help menu of the software.
