Author Topic: baking with Modo -> possible solution for black normals  (Read 1076 times)


Just wanted to share something I just found : I was struggling with the baking of normal maps and material IDs and was getting black maps...

I was exporting meshes as FBX from the scene editor (right-click and export selected layers) and getting black maps.
I tried to export the FBX with the game toolbar and everything is working, my normal maps and ID are now ok !

Just wanted to share if it may help someone ;)

I think Ive also some black maps - for me I had a sleeve, but the inner and outer parts were on the same UV island. Splitting them solved this. I also had some geo with missing UV's which ended up black in Substance.
