Scripted render pipeline in Unity is no longer "experimental", Universal Render Pipeline (LWRP) will become the new standard renderer and more people are shifting to HDRP. When can we expect the live link and integration plugin to follow :-[ ?

Hi,

We will be adding support for HDRP in our next update. I will share more info when we get close to release. After HDRP, we will be looking at moving to support for Universal pipeline.

I just posted another thread related to this. Since you've replied here with the notion of support coming, would you mind giving some general sense of timing with this update? Are we talking weeks/1 month/6 months? I realize with development, timelines are a nightmare to hit/commit to but I'm hoping you have a ballpark. It will affect some of the pipeline choices we are trying to make.

I would also be interested in helping with the beta of the Substance in Unity plugin to support HDRP as well. I am creating documentation that uses the live link from Unity to Substance Painter and developed a workaround when using an HDRP project. While it seems to work, it's not an ideal workflow. I would not be documenting the feature in the beta release, but I would think it beneficial to understand and test how it is implemented.

Hi, we're on 2019.3.0f1, and using substance plugin. However, we're using Universal pipeline, but the shaders generated are pink. There is no support for universal yet or?

Any workarounds? Genereate textures perhaps,.,.

Substance said in the Unity Asset Store 3 mths ago that substance textures will work with LWRP. However when applying sbsar base color texture to material , the material turns black. FYI I raised this in forum https://forum.substance3d.com/index.php?topic=31723.msg121296#msg121296

Hi,

I checked on this issue and indeed the material is setting itself to black. This seems to be some type of regression as this used to work. I am asking our dev to take a look at this issue and I've logged a bug ticket for this issue.

As a workaround, I was able to go to the substance graph, make a parameter change and the material would render again. We need to see if this is caused by an update in Unity or our plugin. We are investigating this.
