Author Topic: How to get rid of white halo around opacity mapped layer?  (Read 871 times)

Hi all,
I'm trying to build up a painterly layered material using multiple alpha tested shells with opacity maps painted in Substance Painter.

I've tried using a hard edged shape brush on a large black mask, but I keep getting a white halo  around my material.
I've also tried exporting the mask to a file and crushing it to black and white in Photoshop, but there's still a bit of a white outline.

Do you have any tips on how to get clean alpha edges? I'm very new to Substance Painter, and none of the tutorials I found really covered this.

Here's a screenshot of what I'm getting:

That edge is because your background layer is empty. Try setting a fill layer at the bottom of the stack with a darker color and you shouldn't see any white bleed.
