I've been using Substance for the last several years and just recently added Quixel Mixer/bridge/megascans to my toolset.  I have to say that I think Substance offers a wider range of capabilities for texturing, I really do wish Substance offered something more in the way of Projected Detail.

One thing that I have adopted readily with Quixel are decals.  They are a non-destructive way of adding details to your materials that you can apply as a layer with total control over placement and rotation and scale, even after you've applied it.  Substance merely has projected decals which are fixed to where you project them to.  Here is a link to a quick video I made showing applying decals in Quixel Mixer.
