Author Topic: Cant import smart materials from substance share  (Read 141 times)

I cant seem to import most of the smart materials into paianter that I get from substance share.   It shows an error "An error occurred opening this resource. It cannot be imported", and then doesnt import.
One such material is this:  https://share.substance3d.com/libraries/3966

I'm using Painter 2019.1.3

How do you import the resource ? What are your import settings ?
Don't forget your log file. It can be exported from the Help menu of the software.

I've tried importing by drag and drop from file explorer, using file-> import resources, and putting the file manually in the shelf folder.   I dont see any options for changing any actual settings for import... This is the import dialogue:

Could you attach here the resource you downloaded ?

I cant seem to attach the file to my post.  Here's a dropbox link:  https://www.dropbox.com/s/v26aeqji7u85ft7/golden_moldy.zip?dl=0

It looks like the resource is identical to mine. So it doesn't seem corrupted.
Did you try moving the file in another folder/disk and importing it again ?
Is Substance Painter running in administrator mode ?

Just tried running as administrator, could no longer drag/drop into the shelf from file explorer.

Tried copying and moving the file around, no change.  On my computer, the file has no date modified, not sure if thats impacting it?
