Author Topic: Making a material reflect a different color?  (Read 1322 times)

Hey guys, first time posting! I am making a tungsten ore stone and I want the black stone to reflect gold I was wondering if this is possible sense I haven't been able to find anything similar. Maybe I am just not sure what to search for but I would really appreciate some help!


This is only possible when using the specular workflow.
Make your specular map a dark yellow. Darker then you would expect, or it will end up looking like a yellow metal (like gold).
Make your diffuse map a dark grey (Pure black wouldn't be physically accurate)

Best to start a new thread but let's give it a shot. I'm not sure what the issue is with your image. Is it the light/shadows? If so you can rotate your HDRI (environment light) with Shift+Right Mouse Button. This should help with illuminating the object for a better render.
