Author Topic: Is it possible to color all bricks touching a shape (window, door)?  (Read 141 times)

Hi all
Is there a way to alter the color of all the bricks that touch a specific shape, like a window or a door or the edges of a building, like in the images below?
Many thanks
Paolo

Yes, you can use a bevel node on the window shape then use a histogram scan or gradient map node (or both to allow for some user control) to dial in the exact range you want and voila, you will get a mask you can use.

add your window shape to your bricks to make it one piece and use flood fill to differentiate it from the other shapes. then use any of the other flood fill nodes to identify that shape and ta-da.

this will only mark the overlapping bricks though. if you want more you'll need to expand the shape used for marking accordingly.

Nice and elegant solution divi!
