How pick color from reference image?

Hi.

I'm new in Substance Painter and use 3D Coat too. In 3D Coat there is an option to pick colors from an imported reference image. This is something that works already since the first version there and is really useful.

Where I find this in Substance Painter, please?

An alternative would be to replace the current color with an HEX color value, like this is possible in Blender e.g.

You can use the dropper tool to pick colors from any source on the screen.

Are you talking about getting a range of colour values from a selected part of an image?

No. Just pick some colors from a loaded reference image.

I've made a proposal for a better palette and woud like to have something like this:

Oh... I would have no idea how to do that... Most artists usually have a multi monitor setup, so we just put references on one screen and color pick from there.

I don't believe Painter even allows you to import images for color picking anyhow, but maybe someone else can chime into this. Otherwise you can always post this feature as a suggestion here: https://allegorithmic.uservoice.com/forums/261284-substance-painter

I've two monitors too, and I'm using the same workflow with references on the second monitor for a long time.

Now I understood how it work to pick a color...

What I didn't knew: I have to "drag" the color picker to pick a color on any open app on my monitors.
The problem was I've not dragged it... Now all works fine so far.
