Author Topic: Exposed Variable Identifier Auto Correction Bug  (Read 596 times)

When a variable is being exposed, "new" is chosen, and the variable name is typed out, Designer automatically changes variable names that match existing names. This causes strange problems when naming similar/related variables.

For example, if the user has a pre-existing variable named "Expansion" and tries to type out a new variable named "ExpansionSlope", Designer will not allow them to do so. As soon as they type the last lower case n in Expansion, it will automatically change the entire string to the default. They would have to add a temporary prefix to the name before typing "Expansion", then delete it afterward.

A better solution to resolve name conflicts would be to disable the OK button until the user types out a unique identifier. Maybe with a little passive warning message to explain why it is disabled.
