Author Topic: How do I prevent materials' height information from overpowering my model?  (Read 221 times)

The answer to this problem may well lie in how these materials were put together in Designer. We'll see.

The basic problem I'm having is that the material height information is 'more powerful' than the normal information that came with the model:

With the light coming from the top left, you can clearly see the wood being higher than the leather that's supposed to be wrapping it according to the baked normals.

Is this something I need to change in the wood material itself? Or is using height information for this kind of model a mistake in its own right?

Your height on the wood is really high compared to the other materials, try adding a levels effect on the height of your wood material to reduce the effect.
