Author Topic: create windows for procedural buildings  (Read 489 times)

wanted to know if you have how to create windows on the side of these buildings? if so how could I do it?

Yes you can! There is always a way.
But you're not going to like it.

You see, every texture in Substance Designer is projected right onto the surface.
So when you displace your plane upwards, you cannot put anything on the side of that displacement.

If it's important to you, you can use your height map to displace geometry in another 3D package.
Then you can UV your new surface — with walls and everything — and re-texture that procedurally in Substance Designer.
"Better than some, no worse than others."

thank you
