Author Topic: Bad seams in Substance Normal Maps!  (Read 3614 times)

Guys so far I love the product. I've purchased it. We love it so much we set up a site to promote the stuff. On some of our textures I'm getting them down to 160KB for 4 2k maps !! Amazing. But you gota take time away from the fun on this product dev and go back and fix the normal map baker. It's broke on Mac. I can't get rid of nasty seams.

I take my same meshes in Xnormal and bake and there are no seams at all and the render is butter smooth. Please fix like yesterday because currently the maps Im getting cant be used at all.

Dave

was this using averaged normals, or did you leave that option unchecked?  were you using a cage?

Average normals were turned ON.

Cage no I did not use a cage.
AA was 4x4
Tangent Space
Direct X = ON
Relative to BB = ON

I'm not sure what the issue is, but 4.5 is coming next week and has a new padding feature that should get rid of any artefact you may have on edges.

Hi,

I can test the asset in SD 4.5 if you like. If you can send me the files to wes.mcdermott@allegorithmic.com I will check it to make sure we don't have any baker issues.

Cheers,
